Bitcoin re-staking platform SatLayer announced Wednesday that it will expand the use of bitcoin in decentralized finance to Sui, a fast layer 1 blockchain launched last year. As Sui focuses on fast transaction speeds, SatLayer's integration will enable developers to leverage Bitcoin's $2.10 trillion market size to build DeFi apps that are designed to keep third parties out of transactions in areas such as trading and lending, SatLayer said in a statement.
SatLayer, a Babylon-based bitcoin re-pledge platform, announced the completion of a $8 million Pre-Seed round of funding, led by Hack VC and Castle Island Ventures, with participation from Franklin Templeton, OKX Ventures, Mirana Ventures, Amber Group, Big Brain Holdings, CMS Holdings and others. SatLayer co-founder Luke Xie told The Block that the project's original goal was to raise $4 million, but when the funding began in April, the round was oversubscribed within a month. (TheBlock)
